Painted 1/72 Republican Infantry

A lot of miles ahead of what a common user (like myself) can do, but I couldn't resist the temptation of posting it here. It's our 20mm Republican Infantry set as painted by Rafa "Archiduque" (archiduquerpc.wordpress.com):

While awaiting the arrival of printed boxes, that ought to happen tomorrow, the first sets of our 20mm SCW Republican Infantry have already started coming out from foundry!

Republican Infantry ultimate greens!

I do firmly believe that the more pictures one can show, the less words is going to need. So that please draw a beer can from your cooler, watch calmly the photos at will, and give us your opinion on them.

As you have most probably noticed, this first set consists of 13 soldiers and 2 NCOs --ALL different poses! Let's go for a closer approach now:

What about their size? Here you can see them, next to a ruler graduated in half milimetres:

Are they compatible to other manufacturers ranges? Well, I've taken a few pictures of them next to some Irregular, Bandera/HPC, Barcino and BUM similar figures, so that you can judge by yourself:

This first set of Republican Infantry will be fully available in a pretty short time --some 2 weeks, maybe 3 at most. Nevertheless, in the next few days, we shall put them on pre-release sale, for those unwilling to wait for reserving their set. Wish you like them enough for purchasing them by the hundreds --I won't become a rich man for this, but you'll be helping me to further develop a most comprehensive range!!

New traders, and schedule changes

We are happy to acknowledge our American followers that Internet Hobbies stores do now carry Minairons Miniatures products in their huge catalogue. Also, that Jordi Rubio renowned hobby shop in Barcelona has just started trading our 1/72nd scale models, both plastic and resin ones.

On the other side, we've had to re-adjust our next releases expected schedule, due to a previously unexpectable issue related to the decals sheets that were to complement the affected sets. In the end, we've been compelled to delay releasing of some models. In exchange, we expect to be able to push forward in the pipeline a couple of models that had been left for the first months of 2014. Please take a glance at our updated pipeline by clicking here.

Glad to assure you that our forthcoming first SCW infantry set hasn't been affected by such schedule changes, as you can appreciate below. Greens will be brought to casting on next week.

Going for figures now?

Well, sooner or later it had to happen: we have finally started considering a range of figures matching our SCW model kits. After considering pros and cons, we've thought it better to start a full range in 1:72^nd scale, or 20mm. Such figures will be primarily white metal --not having completely discarded though to make some in other materials such as plastic or resin.

We have found full willingness and involvement of Juan G. Bautista of Xan Miniatures, who has already started working out some drawings on our first set: Republican Regular Infantry. Here you can see such preliminary artwork:

Our first set would consist of a 15-men Platoon boxed set, containing all the miniatures necessary for building a full Infantry Section including one or two NCOs, according to the TO&Es in Spain in Flames/España en Llamas unofficial variant of Flames of War. The pictures you can see show the set planned 8 basic postures --variations apart.

This first set would be followed by a Company HQ and support weapons, allowing you to build an entire Company if desired, by just adding Platoon sets to the core Company HQ. At such an early stage, we can't give you any schedule. However, you can already have for sure we shall push it forward! As said above, it had to happen --sooner or later.
