Stocks updated for 1:100 scale

Just as already done with other scales, I've managed to inventory what number of each 1:100^th scale model I still have in stock --with a few pleasant surprises, that can be checked on the corresponding page of this very same blog.

Also, I've taken advantage of such update for setting on sale the production prototypes of two SCW models that already existed in 1:72^nd scale, but not in 1:100^th scale yet: the armoured carrier and unarmoured tractor versions of IGC Sadurní tank. Both are sold as they were cast --i.e. with no driver included. Don't miss the chance, because both models are truly unique!

Now I'm going to figure out how to keep available to public our free download PDFs.

Stocks updated for 1:72 scale

After Minairons' website closure, I've spent the week performing a thorough inventory of what 1:72^nd scale stuff was still left on shelves. Not too surprisingly, I've found out to have some more items than accounted for --mainly due to latest hour order cancellations. In accordance to what I already announced before, all these stocks have been listed on the 1:72^nd scale page of this very same blog, that will be properly updated at every eventual change.

In the next few weeks, I'm going to perform similar inventories on all our other ranges. Stay tuned!

New 1:144 Fokker F.VII

I'm happy to share a new addition to Minairons' 1:144^th scale collection of Spanish Civil War aircraft: a Fokker F.VII trimotor, that can be used for both sides as a liaison plane, troop carrier or light bomber. Model itself is DLP 3D-printed and consists of just 3 parts, so it still requires a little assembly.

In another order of things, doctors have already given us a timeline for my wife's lung surgery, after a few months of apparently successful chemotherapy treatment. After a compulsory appointment with the anesthesiologist and some latest hour tests, she'll enter surgery room on May 6^th. Therefore, I'm most likely going to shut down Minairons' website for all the first half of May.

New 1:72 Ford AA bus

Here you have a new addition to Minairons' 1:72 collection of Interwar civilian vehicles: a Ford AA bus, that can be used either as an improvised transport of troops or in its original role --just a good old countryside bus. Model itself is mostly DLP 3D-printed and consists of just 3 parts: main body, roof and a hard plastic spare wheel. It requires a little assembly, then.

It was already released at Minairons' website a few days ago, but I'm still struggling with family health issues; so I had no time to publish this installment until right now. Apologies for the delay!

New 1:144 Bristol Bulldog

We have a new Interwar and Spanish Civil War fighting aircraft, the Bristol Bulldog. A small number of them was acquired by the Spanish Republic from Estonia, being mainly used in the Basque Country.

This new fighter is already available at Minairons' website --which BTW is open again for business, unless an unexpected turn happens with the family health current issues.

Citroën saloon, now in 1:100 scale

The 1:100^th scale version of Citroën C14 saloon car is already here. Unlike its larger 1:72^nd scale sister, this one comes as a single piece, so requiring no assembly at all.

This new civilian vehicle has a few variants depending on spare tyres location and presence of fog lights, supplied at random.

I'm happy to share the latest addition to our 1:72^nd scale Interwar range: a Citroën C14 saloon car, which can be seen above painted in the Barcelona taxi cab colourful livery.

This new model is 3D printed in two parts, hull and cabin roof - so a little assembly is still required. The roof part is printed using a translucent resin, so as to allow eventual users the option to paint interiors while leaving transparent the window surfaces.

Worth to mention that this new model comes in four slightly different variants - depending on spare tyre location and eventual presence of foglamps - The precise variant is supplied randomly.

New 1:100 scale towing van

I'm happy to share the latest addition to our 1:100^th scale Interwar range: a Ford AA towing van, which can be also useful for SCW or even WWII settings - may it serve as a pressed into service civilian crane, or simply as a scenery piece.

It's already available at our website, as usual.

Upcoming Lancia-Ansaldo IZM

As perhaps some of you have already noticed when visiting Minairons' website, it is currently closed for a short vacation until next October 20^th.

While in holidays, I've thought that you would like to know that we're about to launch a new 1:72^nd scale fighting vehicle suitable not just for SCW, but for both World Wars as well - besides of a number of Interwar settings: the Lancia-Ansaldo IZM armoured car! This new model kit will become fully available just at our holidays end - by October 20^th!

Model itself is mostly resin cast, as you can see in the photo above, complemented by a few 3D printed accessories. It all makes a total of no more than 14 parts.

This one sample has been masterly painted by Salva Rosselló from Pincel y Masilla studio. Don't miss his superb artwork!

1:100 Ford AA pickup van

It is available now the 1:100^th scale version of our Ford AA pickup van, as a DLP 3D-printed model.

This new version is even simpler than its 1:72^nd scale counterpart, because it consists of just 2 parts - main body and cab roof.

Edited as of 19/06/2024: even simpler now, for it requires no assembly at all! Printed in one single part.

1:72 Ford AA pickup van

I'm delighted to announce the release of a brand new 1:72^nd scale civilian vehicle - Ford AA pickup van. This new model is entirely 3D printed, and it comes boxed in just 5 parts - chassis, cab roof, bed and wheel axles, as it can be seen below.

Also, the 1:100^th scale version of this model is pretty close to deadline now; we expect to release it too in the next few weeks.

1:56 Henschel Type 33 Truck is back too!

Now it's the 1:56^th scale version of Henschel Type 33 heavy truck what has come back as a digital product - that is, as a set of STL files for 3D-printing. It has been simplified so as to have less parts; but it still stands as a multi-part set, in order to ease its painting job, as well as an eventual customization - with separate parts for chassis, front, cab roof, bed, wheels and optional tarpaulin, toolbox and steering wheel.

Henschel's STL files come in a .RAR or .ZIP file on demand. Due to the compressed file exceeding a bit the maximum allowance of our website's software (which is below 2 Mb), an automated download cannot be set; therefore, the STLs must be delivered manually using a secure service such as WeTransfer after order is paid for.

Also, we are already working out the same with another well-known 1:56 model kit - the Hispano Suiza MC-36 armored vehicle.

1:56 Chevrolet 1.5 ton Truck is back!

Yes the 1:56^th scale version of the iconic Chevrolet light truck is back on our shelves - but now as a digital product rather than a physical one. We're now selling it as a set of STL files for 3D-printing - either by the purchaser himself, or by using a 3D-printing service.

Despite having simplified a bit the model kit, we've nevertheless kept it as a multi-part set in order to ease its painting job, as well as an eventual customization. So it consists now of separate parts for chassis, front, cab roof, bed, wheels and optional tarpaulin and steering wheel - quite less than its former physical counterpart, that had also separate parts for bumper, headlights and rearview mirror.

Chevy's STL files come in a .RAR or .ZIP file on demand. Cannone da 105/28, now for 15mm

I'm happy to show you our latest Spanish Civil War product at 1/100 scale: the Ansaldo Cannone da 105/28, widely used by Italy in WW2 and SCW.

Unlike its 1/72 scale counterpart, which is white metal cast in several parts to be assembled, this new cannon is DLP 3D-printed as a single piece, so requiring no assembly at all.

1:144 Heinkel He-51 fighter

As already announced a few weeks ago, we're expanding rapidly our 1:144^th scale SCW aircraft range, thanks to our patronage on Plane Printer designer through Patreon. Our latest model in this range is Heinkel He-51, supplied to Spanish Nationalists by Nazi Germany at the very start of SCW.

Aircraft itself is sold in box as a single piece DLP 3D-printed model, so requiring no assembly. Model design is inclusive of a pilot bust seated in cockpit.

1:144 Nieuport 52 ready printed

As an average, 3D prining machines still require a good deal of maintenance and skills - at such extent that some say that 3D printing is a hobby in itself; so perhaps not everyone everywhere is ready to have a 3D printer at home yet.

However, the fact is that every day there are more and more digital designers of 3D models and figures for printing - and many of these are noticeably improving their excellence. Their models are usually designed to be printed out ready to paint, with very little assembly if any - a big advantage over conventional multi-part models, admittedly.

This is not a passing fashion, but a consolidating trend.

What are we meaning?

Rather than competing the trend with conventional multi-part products, we've thought it best to join forces with a few such innovators through Patreon, to help some of our ranges grow with their creations while supporting their job.

One of the designers we’ve selected is Plane Printer, who's creating 20^th century aircraft models compatible with BRS (so pre-designed to 1:200^th scale). From now on, we’ll be re-sizing his products into 1:144^th scale and ready printing them, within our own SCW aircraft range. Besides of the ultimate 1:144 model itself, our website will also show a direct link to Plane Printer’s own product page on Patreon, for if someone wants to have it printed by him(her)self.

The model we've chosen as a start is Nieuport 52 fighter, a pretty ubiquitous early war aircraft. It is sold in box as a one piece DLP 3D-printed model, retailing at €8.22 (+VAT where applying) so cheaper than our multi-part resin & metal models.

Time will tell if we got the diagnosis right, so as to even go deeper into the experience with new WWII and Interwar aircraft models – or if otherwise it was the mistake of my life! As an old Catalan saying says, qui no arrisca, no pisca ("who dares not, does not fish").

New 1/72 Trubia A4 Tank

I'm happy to announce release of a further 1/72 scale Spanish Civil War fighting vehicle, the Trubia A4 tank. Intended to replace the Renault FT-17 in Spanish service, its development started by 1925 and included an innovative turret design in two independent sections, each one armed with a MG. By the outbreak of civil war, three of these tanks fell into Nationalist hands, while the fourth one was held by the Republican side.

Model itself consists of 13 parts in total, 6 of which are resin while the rest are white metal. Turret sections can be glued together if desired, but you can also let them to rotate independently.

This new boxed model kit retails at €10.95 and can already be found at our website.

New Cannone da 105/28

I'm happy to show you our latest Spanish Civil War product at 1/72 scale: the Ansaldo Cannone da 105/28, widely used by Italy in WW2 - and SCW too, of course!

This new model is entirely white metal cast and consists of just 5 parts - these including the characteristic rubber tire wheels it was given since 1937. Wooden spoked wheels might be used for it too - here below you have a sample with such wheels installed.

1/56 M1 Armored Car, available again

New 1:144 Breguet Br. XIX light bomber

I'm happy to show you our first release of 2020, a new 1:144^th scale SCW aircraft this time. It's the renowned Breguet Br. XIX, a light bomber and reconnaissance biplane aircraft that is a real must for virtually any interwar, SCW and early WWII setting.

Following our customary practice, model itself is quite easy to build, for it consists of just 9 finely cast, high quality resin parts - besides of white metal pilot and gunner kindly supplied by Peter Pig. Breguet Br. XIX boxed set also includes a decal sheet that includes markings for both SCW sides, as well as for a WWII Greek aircraft.
