Stocks updated for 1:144 scale

After 1:72nd scale, it was now time for me to update remaining stocks of 1:144th scale stuff --basically aircraft and WSS flags. Once again, there happens to be some more items than accounted for --mainly due to already mentioned latest hour order cancellations. In accordance to previous announcements on this matter, such updated stocks have been listed on the 1:144th scale page of this very same blog, that will be properly updated at every eventual change.

Next will be the turn of our 1:600th scale ranges, all related to Age of Sail.

New 1:144 Avia S-199 fighter

This one is probably going to be the last release from Minairons miniatures. Today's subject is a new 1:144th 3D printed aircraft model --that of the Czechoslovak Avia S-199 fighter, produced in postwar times using the Messerschmitt Bf-109 G airframe. It was powered by a Junkers Jumo 211F engine instead of the original Daimler Benz DB605 one.

This aircraft was notable as the first fighter obtained by the Israeli Air Force (IAF), and was extensively used during the first stages of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. Although officially nicknamed 'Sakeen' (=knife in Hebrew) by the IAF, israeli pilots used to call it 'Messer' instead (this word also happening to mean knife both in Yiddish and German).

Upcoming update: Later this week I'm going to post a thread explaining the timeline for Minairons miniatures shut down, as well as the destiny deserved to each of their main ranges, the website itself and this very blog too. Stay tuned!

New 1:144 HA-1112 'Buchón'

As stated some time before, I am committed to a few releases before Minairons ultimately shuts doors down. These were projects already in pipeline before the events leading to closure, so I think it fair to give them a chance. Such is the case of this one release, the Spanish post-war fighter Hispano Aviación HA-1112 M Buchón (=Pouter), that we've just released as a 1:144th 3D printed model, designed by PlanePrinter for us.

Spain had obtained in 1942 a German license to build the Messerschmitt BF-109 G, with some components to be supplied by Germany. As WWII progressed though, Germany became increasingly incapable of meeting such needs, so Spanish engineers started using local components --such as a 1,300 HP Hispano-Suiza engine replacing the original Daimler-Benz 605A, so giving birth to a transitional model which was named Bf-109 J at first and later renamed HA-1109.

After WWII ended, Hispano Aviación created the HA-1112 K, which was powered by an Hispano-Suiza engine while the international embargo against Spain was in force. Such engine was replaced by a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine in 1957 --thus giving birth to the final HA-1112 M version, with its characteristic Spitfire-Messer hybrid look.

New 1:144 Fieseler Fi-156 'Storch' & orders from USA

Perhaps some of you weren't aware that the otherwise renowned WWII German reconnaissance plane Fieseler Fi-156 Storch (=Stark) was already present in Spanish Civil War, albeit in very limited numbers. About 6 of these STOL aircraft were dispatched to Spain in 1938, for their use by the Condor Legion. As such, they displayed the usual green grey livery with Spanish Nationalist markings. Our model kit is 3D printed, so it needs no assembly, and has been designed by PlanePrinter as usual.

Besides of the orders traffic jam (over 100 of these in a couple of weeks!) experienced lately, that I'm steadily diluting, there is another issue affecting my American customers. A few days ago, all European postal services resolved to temporarily suspend shipments to the States while awaiting more clarity on the new USA issued tariffs. As a consequence, I'm compelled to also temporarily withhold USA orders processing, until all this f*cking mess is ultimately fixed. My most sincere apologies for this unexpected inconvenience.

Shipping delay & new 1:144 PZL P.24 fighter

To all my dear customers, please accept in advance my apologies for the delays shipping process is experiencing - mostly due to a real avalanche of orders during our reopening first week. Orders have been received at a pace far faster than my humble ability to process them. Please take a little patience with me; I reassure you that your orders haven't been forgotten!

On the other hand, I've just released today a new 1:144 scale WWII fighter: the Polish PZL P.24, an aircraft also used by Greece, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria. Due to tightening deadlines before ultimate closure, I haven't been able to provide for a decent box art for this new model. Apologies again!

Upcoming 1:144 MiG-3 fighter

'Wait. Weren't you going to shut down Minairons miniatures brand? Why launching new products now, then?'

Indeed. However, there were a number of already finished projects that I wanted to share right before closure.

Such is the case of our upcoming 1:144th Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-3 WWII fighter, which will be available for purchase right from mid August (when the website is briefly reopened for a clearance sale) till the very end of Minairons miniatures around Christmas.

New 1:144 Fokker F.VII

I'm happy to share a new addition to Minairons' 1:144th scale collection of Spanish Civil War aircraft: a Fokker F.VII trimotor, that can be used for both sides as a liaison plane, troop carrier or light bomber. Model itself is DLP 3D-printed and consists of just 3 parts, so it still requires a little assembly.

In another order of things, doctors have already given us a timeline for my wife's lung surgery, after a few months of apparently successful chemotherapy treatment. After a compulsory appointment with the anesthesiologist and some latest hour tests, she'll enter surgery room on May 6th. Therefore, I'm most likely going to shut down Minairons' website for all the first half of May.

New 1:144 Bristol Bulldog

We have a new Interwar and Spanish Civil War fighting aircraft, the Bristol Bulldog. A small number of them was acquired by the Spanish Republic from Estonia, being mainly used in the Basque Country.

This new fighter is already available at Minairons' website --which BTW is open again for business, unless an unexpected turn happens with the family health current issues.

'Yes I'm retired, I promise!'

Minairons' 1:144 aircraft range has just grown again with the addition of the iconic Supermarine Spitfire fighter, which is born thanks to the co-operation with Plane Printer designer via Patreon. It retails in box as a single piece DLP 3D-printed miniature, so requiring no assembly at all. Box reverse includes a short painting guideline for the Battle of Britain, North Africa, Malta and Europe.

The decals used on this painted sample have been taken from our Grumman FF-1/GE-23 set.

Grumman F6F 'Hellcat'

At an admittedly slower pace than their SCW cousins, our collection of 1:144th scale WWII fighters keeps growing nevertheless - now with the Grumman F6F 'Hellcat', a real must for Pacific War gaming.

As usual, this new plane is sold in a box, on which reverse is a brief painting and marking guide. Look for it at minairons.eu.

Hope you like it!

WSS Queen's Own IR flags

I'm happy to share our latest product in the War of Spanish Succession flags ranges, in all scales. This consists of a paper sheet with the King's and Regiment's Colours belonging to the La Reina ("=Queen's Own") Infantry Regiment of Charles Habsburg's Army - released simultaneously in 1:100, 1:72 and 1:56 scales. Also a fourth 1:144 scale sheet contains the Colours of three different Austrophile regiments (Catalan Guards, Ahumada and Queen's Own itself).

Alongside with the flag sheets above, a brief PDF painting guide on the subject has been released too - as customary. Hope you like it all!

WSS Brabant I.R. flags & guide

99GSC110

Our War of Spanish Succession infantry flag set ranges keep expanding at a steady pace - at all scales altogether. We've added to collection now the flags of a further Two Crowns' Spanish unit: Brabant I.R., another senior regiment in the Spanish Army of that time.

Along with the individual Brabant I.R. sheets in 1:100th, 1:72nd and 1:56th that you can see in the photo above, we've also released a 3-unit flag sheet in 1:144th scale too, that contains the colours of Brabant, Castile and Jaen Infantry Regiments altogether.

99GSD110

Along with the flags, I've also released a PDF guide on the subject for free download, as usual.

1:144 Henschel Hs-123 dive bomber

10GEA004

Minairons miniatures' 1/144 scale SCW aircraft range keeps growing at a steady pace: this week it has seen the addition of Henschel Hs-123 (commonly nicknamed 'Angelito' in Spain). Operated by Germany, China and Spain, this robust, durable and resistant to severe weather biplane dive bomber saw continued front-line service until 1944.

Just as previous models in this range, our Henschel Hs-123 comes to life thanks to the co-operation with Plane Printer designer via Patreon. It retails in box as a single piece DLP 3D-printed miniature, so requiring no assembly at all. Box reverse includes a comprehensive painting guideline.

This is probably going to be our last announcement before Christmas weekend, so let me take advantage of this thread for wishing to you all a best Christmas Day. Enjoy it!

1:144 Hawker-Hispano 'Fury' fighter

10GEA006

I'm pleased to show our latest 1:144th scale Spanish Civil War aircraft, the Hawker-Hispano 'Fury' (perhaps better known as Spanish Fury). This elegant biplane won the 1935 contest to replace Nieuport 52 as the main fighter of Spain. However, the Civil War early outbreak prevented the Republican Air Force to have enough of them available.

10GEA006

Just as previous models in this range, our Hawker Hispano is born thanks to the co-operation with Plane Printer designer through Patreon. It retails in box as a single piece DLP 3D-printed miniature, so requiring no assembly at all. Box reverse includes a thotoughful painting schema.
