Free downloads listing updated

Some of you already knew that, besides of model kits, figures and gaming accessories, my former Minairons website also hosted a decent number of basic painting guides related to both WSS and SCW; as well as a few campaign booklets and other gaming aids --all them downloadable for free.

Their complete listing is shown on this blog's 'free stuff' page; which, as a novelty, now allows for users to download such stuff right from there --by just clicking on the corresponding image.

Most of these files are in PDF format, while a few others are just JPEG images. When their size so required, some of them have been compressed as a ZIP file. All you are free to download them as anonymously as desired --although, honestly, it would be warmly appreciated any kind of comment to be dropped in that page's commentary box.

WSS Rubí's Infantry Regiment flags

I'm pleased to share a further addition to our War of Spanish Succession flag ranges at 1:100, 1:72 and 1:56 scales altogether. These new sets display the flags of the Maruis of Rubí Infantry Regiment, raised in 1713 by himself as Charles Habsburg's viceroy of Majorca, with the purpose to help defend the island face a foreseeable Two Crowns' invasion of the island - which actually happened in 1715. Along with the flags, I've also released a small PDF guide on the subject for free download, as usual.

Painting our Austrophile Grenadiers

Back from the Montmeló town Xth Napoleonic & Black Powder Open, and already on holidays (theoretically at least), I've been pleasantly surprised by another YouTube video tutorial from Minis, My Way, where the author takes an approach to our 1:72nd scale WSS Austro-catalan Grenadiers:

Don't they look terrific?

WSS Busquets' I.R. flags and guide

99GSC008

I'm happy to announce release of a further set of War of Spanish Succession infantry flags at 1:100th, 1:72nd and 1:56th scales altogether. The set we've launched today comprises two flags attributed to an Austro-catalan regiment, that of Col. F. Busquets aka Mitjans. Worth to be said that much of what is known about this particular regiment belongs to educated speculation, based more on local folk-lore than on factual data. Scholars have even pointed toward a third alternative flag - the St. George Cross one, like that of General Deputation I.R. (GSC001).

03NAV017

Just as usual, we've published a PDF guide on the subject for free download, gathering all the scarce information on this regiment currently known.

Upcoming polacre ship painting video

I'm happy to share this YouTube video below, recorded by a gaming mate, which shows the painting process of our upcoming 1:600th scale polacre - a three masted ship quite common in XVII-XVIII centuries Mediterranean waters, that was en evolution from xebecs. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Don't forget to like and subscribe to this IMHO exciting channel!

Summer releases breviary

It's been a pretty calm and silent Summer this year, with very few postings on this blog or social media --but by no means an inactive one! Otherwise, there has been a lot of undercover work producing some amount of new and upcoming stuff.

First of all, we have consolidated our projected range of 1:144th scale (10mm) flags for War of Spanish Succession, by printing and releasing its three first sets. As it can be seen by the photo above, each set contains both King's and Regiment's colours for three different peninsular regiments. This collection is going to grow gradually, following the rate of its 1:100, 1:72 and 1:56 sister ranges.

Secondly, we have released a new set of flags suitable for Spanish Civil War and WWII, in 1:100th, 1:72nd and 1:56th scales altogether as usual, that consists of three different flags of the german Condor Legion and III Reich. These can be useful as aerial recognition elements for vehicles, as game objectives or even for scenery decoration.

Also, our ranges of War of Spanish Succession flags for larger scales have just seen a new addition - this time, those belonging to the Admiral of Castile Infantry Regiment (far better known as Ahumada IR, on behalf of its colonel), which was in fact the most senior unit in Archduke Charles' spanish army --because it was created in 1703 by exilés in Portugal, long before the Crown of Aragon states raised in his support.

Alongside to those above, I've taken advantage for releasing a couple of new PDF booklets --the one presenting a painting guide for the forementioned regiment, while the other one summarizes all available information on Austrophile Spanish flags currently available. You can download both for free from our website.

More news in a few days!

WSS Seas of Naples Inf. Regt. flags

I've just made available another War of the Spanish Succession flag set, released in 1:100, 1:72 and 1:56 scales altogether as usual. Now it's been turn for Mar de Nápoles (=Seas of Naples) Regiment, another one of the most senior units in Spanish Infantry.

Along with this, I've also released a PDF painting guide devoted to that very same Infantry Regiment. All my PDF guides can be freely downloaded, as perhaps some of you already know.

And last, I would ask to all those having previously downloaded our PDF booklets on Sicily, Lombardy and Castile Infantry Regiments to check what version do they have in hands, because I've also updated them with a little information pieces else. If your booklets' bottom do read "2.0 version" they are OK; otherwise, if any reads "1.0 version" instead, that means you'd probably like to download it again.
