1/72 Female casualties preview

Some time ago, I started musing on further developing the SCW 20mm figures range by giving higher priority to accessory small sets, besides of just making large fighting troops sets. One of the accessory sets I had in mind was a small range of casualty figures, covering most (if not all) the troops types already produced. The first such set I commissioned had to be devoted to dead/injured Militia women --a commission that in my mind compulsorily had to be taken by the same artist who sculpted the Militiawomen, so as to preserve an alike feeling and look.

Well, the matter is that I've been delivered right today some pictures on the ultimate sculpts by Angel Terol; please take a glance on them and feel free to post your comments at regard:

As you can see, set is to comprise 4 figures in different, quite dramatical poses. Two of them are meant to lie dead or unconscious, while the other two are showing a lighter wound level.

After some talk with the sculptor, we agreed the figures to be made with their stand apart, so as to allow him to sculpt the figures entirely from all around. Stands are quite thin actually, and enjoy small fitting holes so as to allow figures easy fixing to them. I guess this will also please you users!

1/72 Landesa tank released

We've just made available another 1/72 scale tracked fighting vehicle --the little known Landesa tank, one the first Spanish attempts to produce a tank of their own, back in the late 1920s.

As usual among us, ultimate model kit is quite simple, easy to build --for it just consists of three main resin parts, complemented by a hard plastic MG. It has been priced at €10.95 and can be already found in the Interwar page of our webstore. As you can see thorugh the image below, this model shared chassis and running gear with the Landesa tractor it was based on, as well as with the later Trubia-Naval tank.

Perhaps some of you might wonder why we have labeled this AFV as an Interwar one, instead of SCW. The fact is that, despite up to two of them fought in the first stages of war (around Oviedo town, one on each side), it had been used in action before --during the 1934 Asturias Revolution, to be precise.

Spanish galleon update

Apologies to all those interested on our announced range of 1/600 scale sailing ships for the silence we've kept on the matter lately. We've had to re-design thoroughly some features of model --nearly from the start. However, we can now consider its hull as completed --except for one side feature I'm going to explain below. But let's take a glance on the galleon's hull before.

As you can see, ship model shows two apparently odd features. First of all, we have decided to design two alternative bows under form of separate parts, so as to help give to the ultimate ship an earlier or later appearance. Following that same 'customizing friendly' core idea, we have also deviced two alternative sterns --a more archaic one with long open balconies, and another one more baroque-styled, with windowed galleries.

Now we are about to start masts design; most probably, we're going to draw two versions of each mast --the one with fully unfolded sails, the other one with partially folded rigging. So many variants and alternative parts are not intended for one single kit, naturally (it would be a real waste to produce a model with only one hull and a pair of every other part there!). Otherwise, the idea behind is being able to make two different model kits (let's say, an "Early Galleon" and a "Late Galleon"), with interchangeable parts so as to allow the building of 'hybrid' models, or allowing to customize an entire fleet of all slightly different ships, just from two different kits.

I am aware that so many comes and goes are slowing down the project, and I apologize to those among you with less patience. However, I honestly believe all these turns around are to be for good. Thanks for your support!

1/100 IGC Sadurní tank, released!

I'm glad to announce the ultimate release by Minairons of a new Spanish Civil War AFV at 1/100 scale. This is IGC Sadurní Catalan tank, a beautiful little piece of armour we have launched in a 2-tanks boxed set also including a decals sheet at the price of €16.95.

As usual, model itself is quite easy to build; for it consists of just three resin main parts, besides of a hard plastic MG. One can build it in a few minutes, then.

here you have one such Sadurní tanks, built and superbly painted by Rubén Torregrosa aka HeresyBrush, that has been depicted between an UNL-35 armoured car and a Pz.Kpfw I ausf. A modificado tank.

1/72 Landesa improvised tank preview

I'm happy to show you the new piece of armour we shall release at 1/72 scale. This tank was improvised on Landesa tractor chassis and, despite a couple of them did see some action at Spanish Civil War outbreak, we're going to label it as an Interwar tank (20IGV003), due to having been first used during the 1934 Asturias Revolution. You can see the prototype of it at the picture above, with a Trubia-Naval Basque tank as background.
